Share a poem
Kindling's collection is built from public-domain poems. This is the other door — for living poets. If you've written something a person might want to type slowly, line by line, send it over. Featured poems sit alongside the canon, with a quiet link back to you.
What we look for
Short enough to type in one calm sitting — roughly four to twenty lines. Plain, typeable text (no layout that leans on unusual characters). And it has to be yours to give. Beyond that, we're simply looking for poems that reward a slow read.
What happens after
A real person reads everything — that person is one person, so replies can take weeks, and most submissions won't be featured. There's no automated confirmation. If a poem is chosen, it's added to the site with your name and a link, and you can ask to have it removed at any time.
The fine print (the important part)
Your work is yours, and it stays yours. To feature it, we just need your explicit permission: that you wrote it and own it, and that you grant Kindling a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on kindlingwriting.app with attribution and a link to you. The email template below states this so you only have to tick a couple of boxes. Prefer a named license? You're welcome to offer it under Creative Commons BY 4.0.
